Welcome to growthtofreedom.com, the show that brings you inspiration, transformation, and leadership. We’re helping you connect the dots, see the blind spots, and get unstuck. So you can go out and generate more leads, more sales, more profits. More importantly, so you can go out and have a bigger reach, a bigger impact, and make a bigger contribution. Hey, out there. Do you struggle with your business growth? Have you hit some kind of a plateau? As you can see, I just got back from football practice with my son, he’s 11 years old, he plays on this 12 and under football team. I got my kids tucked in and all that sort of thing. And I got a text message from one of our clients. And it inspired me to share this message with you. Because I have to ask, Are you being held back? Have you hit burnout or overwhelm or hit that flat liner or, or plateau due to the four things, the four most common things that are holding most business owners back? Now the truth is whether you’re brand new, and just getting started, we see that this holds people up and gets in the way, whether you’re you’re a 10 year veteran, and you’ve hit amazing success in the past, we see these four things getting in the way more and more and more and causing incredible burnout, incredible frustration. And it doesn’t have to be this way. So whether you’re new and you’re wanting to grow, or whether you’re immensely successful, and you want to get to that next level, you’re going to love what we talk about today, because I think it’s going to help you break free to create a breakthrough. You know, Joe Polish, who has become a good friend over the last 15 years says in order to get a breakthrough, you got to be willing to break something, right? Would it be great for you if you could break free from being stuck or being caught in a plateau? Or, you know, behind the eight ball? Right? Because let’s face it, is it getting more and more costly today for you to generate a new client or a new lead? Right? And how many times have you gone out and tried something that maybe didn’t work as well as you thought or it worked for a little while, but then it stopped working? We’re hearing this over and over and over again, some of our private clients are some of the most successful business owners entrepreneurs in the world. And we’ve got a lot of other clients that we help to with some of our different programs.

But I want to share this text that I got from one of our clients with you right now, because this is a version that we hear or see frequently. And so I just want to share it with you. Because I think it’ll be incredibly powerful. But it’s essentially our client, Robbie, sharing with us this information. Thank you, Dan, for being you. And thank you for pushing the ball and knowing what you’re doing and helping our business to grow. It’s the first time in 21 years of business, I’ve experienced marketing that really works. And of course, I said well, I love hearing that. Thanks for setting and send him a little audio message. Right? He went on to say I know more still to come. I spent 15 years and many sleepless nights wishing I could find marketing that works. To scale our systems. I’ve spent five plus years building r&d to grow and build, right, seeing the startup along the way to dream beginning to unfold is a wonderful way to start a new year if we can get 60 to 70% of these results we did this week on an average week with the same budget for the first quarter it will put us in an incredible position will enable us to build our service team will be on a path where we can at least 5x Our business this year. I’m focused and excited to see how well I can convert these new clients now get this right. So he’s a veteran maybe like you he’s you know, not brand new. He’s not a one to be entrepreneur, he is somebody making things happen. He’s got a big message. I mean, do you have a message that you want to have a bigger impact, we see this time and time again, people stuck, where again, whether they’ve hit the flatline after having amazing success, they just want to get to that next level or kind of starting out. And I asked him I said, Hey Robbie, what kind of things that you tried in the no surprise to me, but maybe it will be to you. He had tried a lot of stuff. Now I crossed out the actual names of the organizations and companies and this one and going to this program in this workshop and trying to do it ourselves. Right? It was very difficult to do ourselves compared to what you’re able to do. When you have somebody who’s a pro driving, you know, the car and the steering wheel. She even or he had a client who had extensive background in marketing for large companies, and a large chiropractic group who had become their cmo and it didn’t work. She dropped the ball and didn’t really understand direct response marketing, not a leader. Right. They tried mailers. They tried Door to Door. They tried flyers in local community they hired a salesperson does this sound all too familiar? Possibly. So if you’re struggling with overwhelm.

Let me share with you, you might be asking, well, who the hell are you anyway, so my name is Dan Kuschell. And I run a company called Breakthrough3X today, and breakthrough3x.com, you can learn more information. And I’ve built started and grown over 11 companies. Five of them have been seven figure companies, three of them have been eight figure plus companies, I was very blessed and fortunate to build a education coaching consulting type business collectively in sales over a handful of years, it did somewhere in the neighborhood over $100 million, my business collection over time is that I think over 120 million give or take a little bit not including our clients successes that we’ve worked with, as well. And what we do is we work with business owners to help generate more new steady leads Steady, steady flow of new clients. Without the stress right now, it’s not easy, right? Every business is a little bit different. But we have a proven process that works and it might work for you. So I want to share just a couple of these insights. Because we see time and I’ve interviewed and I’ve surveyed over 4000 businesses in the last handful of years, that’s a lot of data that you get, we found these four things, by the way, getting in the way, in almost 90% of the cases, right? Just short of 90%, these four things they might be holding you back, right? Even a little bit, it can make a huge, huge, wouldn’t it be great if you could tip over a domino and it tipped over 100 Or there’s a little hinge that could swing a big door. Right now, let me let me just back up for a little bit. Now why I got inspired to share this message today is you know, I was out at football practice with my son again, he’s 11 years old, he plays quarterback and we got him a coach. Right? And I don’t know what your thoughts are about a coach. But a good coach brings out the best in talent. And it happens, you know, in many cases pretty quick, right? And so if what you’ve done in the past isn’t working, you got to stop an ad is this working? Is what you’re doing working? Right? If it’s not working, you got to make a shift, right? And it may not be your fault, here’s what you should probably know the four things that have impacted just short a 90% of most companies. Today, it’s only going to continue to get bigger and bigger if you don’t do something about it. And you got to ask how’s that working for you? How’s that working for me? Now, by the way, if you’ve got a comment a post, go ahead and post that down below, I see a Sheikh is dropped in and toppers dropped in and a couple others. Check it out, I would love to get your feedback on what you’re getting out of this so far. And I’m going to stop sharing the screen here. If I can figure this out. I will say that I’m not the most tech savvy person in the world. And that’s okay.

So I’m going to go ahead and switch it back to to me, and we’re going to talk about the four things that may be holding you back that may be leading you to potential distress or burnout or frustration and these sorts of things. So the number one thing that we have found are more ideas, right? Do you have a lot of ideas, chances are you’re creative entrepreneur and innovator type, you are an idea merchant, right, your team probably has a hard time keeping up with all your great ideas. Now we’ve got a solution to share with you that I’m going to, you might want to grab a pen and piece of paper because I think a framework that we’ll share with you will help alleviate a lot of the stress around your amazing ideas. Here’s the second key thing that we find that gets in the way and causes a lot of burnout too many strategies. I know I know. But bear with me to hear the whole story here. What will trump all four of these things, there is something that trumps all four of the things that we’re going to talk about. So if you’ve got too many ideas, or you’ve got too many strategies, the two things are the solution that are going to trump this for you. And then I want to give you a framework to think about how to create greater success, greater momentum, greater lead flow, a steady flow of more new leads and sales. Right away. Next are tactics, right? You know, you can it’s almost like you know, it used to be when I was a kid, I don’t know if you have a 711 near you, but it’s like there’s a 711 on every corner, right? Every everywhere you turn these days somebody is an expert or a coach teaching coaches and coaches coaches on how to coach on how to get tactics to go build and grow a business, right? And if you’re chasing tactics, it’s no wonder that you’re going to deal with frustration and burnout.

It’s like being pinged all the time with text messages and stuff. It’s crazy, right? And then the fourth one is a little known one because this one is like a silent killer in business. It’s the one that’s supposed to make life easier. It’s supposed to be the one that brings us in credit. You know, freedom and peace and so on. And it’s this idea of technology. See? Let me ask you take inventory right now we’re going to talk about taking a different type of inventory in a couple minutes. But are all the incredible ideas that you have getting in the way of you making a real difference? making a real impact making money, right?

Are all the incredible ideas that you have getting in the way of you making a real difference, making a real impact, making money? - Dan Kuschell Click To Tweet

Are the strategies you’re trying to get in place? Maybe like Robbie, you’ve been following for 20 years? 10 years, two years, two months, whatever it’s been? Are those strategies getting in the way of you really simplifying and making money? Are you chasing too many rabbits too many shiny tactics. And that’s getting in the way of you really making an impact and really getting your message out to the world. And vice versa? Are you do have too much technology, you’re trying to automate so many things that literally it’s getting in the way of you making money I see this time and it’s frustrating. What if you can actually simplify this?

Now I’m going to give you an overarching way to think about this, that if you will put this in place. Whether you work with someone like us, or you find somebody that you resonate with, that you connect with that helps you get the result, you know, because after all, you know, I figured out why first Sir, I didn’t invent this. But there’s a lot of coaching programs today a lot of programs that teach all these four things, tactics and strategies and technology and etc. and better new, more new ideas. And you know what, it’s like prostitution, you’re buying friendship, right? In reality, you’re buying a friendship. Well, what would happen if you made that bet, my son who’s 11 years old, we got a coach, because we weren’t looking to buy a friendship, we were looking to help my son get a result. We wanted him to get better as a quarterback. We want him to work on his footwork, we want to work on his his release, we wanted to work on his eye movement to be able to read defenses. A good coach is going to work with you that way, right? You’re not buying a friendship, you’re buying an outcome, you’re buying a breakthrough, you’re buying a transformation, right? So if some of these four things are getting in the way, or maybe it’s a little fuzzy, right now, there’s two things. In fact, we’re going to combine it into one actually combine it into one that trumps all of them, it trumps all of them. And what again, whether you work with us or find someone you do connect with and can help you get that breakthrough, that transformation. And there’s a lot of great people in the world, a lot of great business, talent in the world that you can do that from, right. I’ve had a lot of mentors over the A but here are the two things that trumps all four of those things that might be getting in your way. Number one is Psychology. Right? Psychology, Trumps technology, psychology, Trumps tactics, psychology Trumps strategy. Psychology is going to trump ideas, more new ideas. And the second one is it being principle based those two tied together, right, a principle based model, versus a tactical base model, a principle based model, instead of just strategy, it’s a higher level, right? And when you have a principle based, a, a psychology based model, here’s what you will find will happen for you. You know, like one of my good friends, Dean Graziosi. He’s one of the, you know, top minds in business and marketing in the world today. He’s, he’s a grassroots guy, like, I mean, this guy is amazing at what he does, I admire and respect what he’s done. He built from scratch in multiple industries. But what Dean has, that very few people really pay attention to, he calls it marketing stamina, but it’s something different. It’s principle based psychology, versus tactics and strategy and technology Dean really looks at how can he get the outcome and the result regardless of whether the economy’s going up, whether the economy’s going down, or anywhere in between. He uses a principle based model to attract clients to grow clients to get referrals, and a whole lot more. Right. Another good example is Joe Polish, who runs a community called Genius Network, you may have heard of it principle based, right? The most successful businesses in the world, when they are principle based, when their psychology base, they go like this, and they go like this and they go like this and you know, they hit their their road by every business hits road bumps, right speed bumps along the way, but you constantly look at their growth curve. It’s like this. The tactical models, the strategic models, the idea models, the the models based on a building on sand and will completely automated they automate themselves right out of business. Is it any shock?

I mean, you probably know these. I mean, I’m really passionate about this tonight. I got fired up, you know, with my son’s practice, say they get ready to start their next season and go on this run to win another championship and The reality is, don’t you want to win a championship in your business? Don’t you want? I mean, what would it be worth for you, if you could double your business in the next 12 months, the next 18 months and do it with more freedom, more peace, more joy and a whole lot more.

What would it be worth for you if you could double your business in the next 12 months and do it with more freedom, more peace, more joy, and a whole lot more? - Dan Kuschell Click To Tweet

So I want to encourage you, I want to encourage you to take inventory of your business. And by the way, if you’re picking up some good insights here, go ahead and type some comments below, we got some comments flowing in a little bit, as well go ahead and post those down below. I’d love to hear what you share. And what’s one question that you’ve got related to building and growing your business to the next level that would that would give you some amazing insights. So what to take inventory. Here’s a quick and we go deeper with our inventory model when we work with clients. But that’s a good assessment to do internally. Like right now on a scale of one to 10. How would you rate your marketing? Right? How would you rate your marketing one to 1010? Being greatest, right? Just do a check in on that. And I’m going to go another layer deep on that in a second, on a scale of one to 1010 being highest? How would you rate the sales in your business? Right? As far as your sales process and the sales results that you get in your business? Right? And then on a scale of one to 1010? Being greatest? How would you rate your ability to hire or acquire talent to help you build a team? In other words, so whether it’s hiring part time people or hiring outsource people, or whether it’s hiring full time, on a scale of one to 10? How good are you at getting that talent you need? As when you need it? So you can grow and scale easily, right? And then you do the things you don’t want to do right one to 10? Where would you rate yourself? Now let’s go another level in your marketing. Right? Let’s go another level. And I’m only going to go one, Morgan, we have a full assessment that when we work with our clients, we go through a couple of these things, but on a scale of one to 10. In your marketing? Where would you rate your ability to have a steady flow of new potential clients every day one to 10? Where would you rate it? Okay, on a scale of one to 1010 being highest? How would you rate the sales that happen in your company that are not reliant on you? Right, one to 10, 10 being greatest one is lowest than anywhere in between? Right? And that I’m going to just stop there. So I want to encourage you to take inventory there. Now, if you’re not at a level 10 in those areas, what do you think has to happen for you to get there?

Now, over the course of the next few weeks, and so on, we’re going to be introducing some new insights, new strategy with a lot of the clients that we’ve worked, I’m very blessed to work with some amazing clients and thought leaders, experts that you know, that, you know, who do they call when they want to grow their company, I’ve been blessed, a lot of them have called me and our company to help them grow and scale and so on. I’m not going to make this about me right now. But what I can share with you is we’re going to introduce some insights. Now, if you’re inspired a little bit, even by, you know, my energy or whatever, great, and if you’re not great, but if you are, and you want to go deeper with us and learn how we might be able to help you with your business, right, we customize our plan. It’s a personalized plan. It’s not a one size fits all model, we got a few different ways we work in helpline. But if you want to schedule an opportunity for us to see how we could help you with some things, we set up a URL, you can go to breakthroughstrategycall.com. And you’ll actually you know, fill out a piece that will say request an invitation. And then it’ll take you to an area to fill out a little bit of info about your business and what you’re up to. And then you can schedule the time, right. And we’ll we’ll look to have individual conversation about what you’re doing, what you’re fired up about where you’re stuck, and let’s see where we can help. And if we can help you. I’ve been very blessed also that the connections we have and the relationships we have, will be able to help open some doors and help you solve some challenges. So with that in mind, I want to give you a framework though, to close this off, right? We talked about too many ideas. Like if you’re the type, that’s an idea, merchant, if you’re a creative entrepreneur, if you’re an innovative entrepreneur, and you’re wanting to go to that next level, but you feel like your team can’t keep up with you, or whatever the case might be, then what I encourage you to look at, you know, our to do list is one thing, right? And I and I forget exactly where I picked this framework up. I think it was David Bach, I you know, some friends, Joe and Dean, who I mentioned a little bit earlier, they use versions of this, as well. And I want to make sure always try to give credit where credit is due. Most of the things I do today, I didn’t invent many of them. I just assimilated a lot of them. And then were really worked to narrow them down into more of a simplified system. You know, I love that all over. You know, Oliver Wendell Holmes. I don’t know if you’ve heard him, but he’s a great quote that maybe you’ll love to is I wouldn’t give a fig to be on the other side of complexity. But I give my life to be on this side of simplicity. How cool would it be if you could get on the other side of simplicity, right so you may have a big to do list and it may just be growing Every day, right, you probably have more ideas by 9am, than most human being normal human beings have them. You know, on the front, you have more by 9am on the first day of the month, and most do any in a year, probably right. And they keep building up and building up.

So I’m going to give you a way to think about your creativity, your innovation, that thing that juices you up. So number one, you have a to do list, and you want to capture those ideas. And that’s awesome. But then what you want to do is you want to really go down your to do list and identify what are the key focuses right now. Now, we have found in our studies, again, reviewing over 4000 companies, it gives you a lot of data, we have found that most entrepreneurs feel like they can take on 1012 1516 20 projects in a quarter, right. But what we find is that momentum compared to their team really can crush a team. It’s like a tsunami. So what we found in some of the work and the research that we’ve done, and just real practical implementation is that the three to five focuses per month ends up being a pretty healthy and a very sustainable long term model. So keep that in mind for what it’s worth. Right. So if you by the way, our approach is ala carte, take what you like, leave the rest. And so your to do list, you gather your to do list, now I want to encourage you to look at two additional kind of lists. One is a not now list, right? You want to come up with your not now list, which is a David Bach strategy, not now. Right? So you capture the idea. And then you put it in this place of limbo called not now and you’re going to come back to it but at least it’s captured. Or maybe you have an executive assistant or, or a project coordinator who gathers those and helps you and then what you can do is move those not now as to what to do, right, but at least you don’t lose that creative fire that you likely have that changes the world and makes an impact that makes a difference. Right? And that’s really, really powerful. So you’ve got to do less, you’ve got to not now list. And then you’ve got a not not going to do list. Right? So you got to do what not to do, and and not now, so many ideas, right? You’ve got to work through again, I forget where I heard this from for the very first time, it might have been one of my friends, I know it’s one of my friends. But it’s this idea that you’ve got a lot of times get through a bad idea. In fact, you got to get through about 50 bad ideas to sometimes get to a good one, right? In other words, it’s like mining, right? I mean, miners, in the old days in the Gold Rush, what did they have to do that to mine through a lot of dirt, they had to blow some stuff up and put some dynamite out there, right, they had to get through dirt to find the gold, but gold is what makes it awesome. Which what makes it valuable you have to get through. So sometimes you got to get through a lot of dirty ideas to get to the gold, right. And so you have a to do list, a not to do list and a not now list, I found, we have found that when you put this in place that allows you to be that visionary innovator, that creator that that entrepreneur that can continue to be juiced up, right? You know what you probably know what I’m talking about.

So ideally, that strategy serves you here as a way in a framework to be thinking about building and growing and scaling your business with less stress. If you want to break free from those four things, technology, tactics, strategy and ideas. start focusing more on the psychology and the principle based model.
