  • You can accomplish almost anything in the world if you just take it one step at a time; Taking the first step that is critical;
  • There’s always a skill tied to every goal (maybe more than one skill); If you want accomplish something you’ve never accomplished before, you’re going to have to develop skill you’ve never developed before; you’re going to have to become really excellent at doing something you haven ‘t been excellent before; You have to think if this is my goal, what is the skill I need to achieve that goal; Identify the skill; just as you make a plan to achieve the goal, make a plan to develop the skill. You work on them simultaneously;
  • Principle #4: Maneuver – Be clear about your goal and be flexible about the means of accomplishing it; No strategy ever survives the first contact with the enemy; Be willing to except feedback and go in a different direction;
  • “Everyone has a plan until they get hit” –Mike Tyson
  • “Never consider the possibility of failure – simultaneously avoid the negative people who will tear down your dreams and goals”;
  • How to create a winning environment: The choice of a wrong mate in life can be more destructive of your potential than anything else;
  • If you are good at what you do, you can go anywhere, companies are desperate to find great people;
  • Great rules of success: People don’t change. If it doesn’t meet your values, go somewhere else;

  • “The good is the enemy of the excellent – Many people are reasonably good at a few things and so they just stop there and coast, whereas they don’t realize if they just put in the extra effort – and whether it takes a week a month, a year, it doesn’t’ matter – once you get to that higher realm and you’re in the top 10% in your field, the rewards are 5 and 10 times as much as being in the middle”;
  • “Mediocrity is the highest degree of poor”;
  • Why Completion and Closure are two of the most important principles of success;
  • Double your Productivity: #1 Make a list of everything you have to do before you begin; #2: If I could only do one thing on this list, before being called out of town for a month, which ONE would I want to complete – begin on that task; #3: Discipline to stay on that task until it’s complete;
  • The 3 D’s: Document, Duplicate, and Delegate to create momentum;
